Loss of Words plays a mixture of metal and hardcore in their own style.
And our own style is what we are proud of. Not only do we play as much shows as possible, we also like to give a positive influence to the scene. Stand up for what you believe, play music you want to play and go for it. In our hometown, Breda, this has proved to work. We are very glad to see kids starting up their own hardcore, metal and punkbands and fighting for their existence.

Henk and Bas (ex-Puke ZLHC) founded Loss of Words in 2002, joined later on by Tim and Arjen. We strived to create a sound based on the bands we like. After a period of around a year, in the spring of 2003, we taped our first demo. Evolution=Revolution2, was recorded at the Avalanche Studio, Middelburg, by Willy Berrevoets. After launching this demo, we got asked to play a couple of local shows..

After a few shows, Tim decides to put his guitar asides, and to focus on singing. To fill the void, a new guitar player is found in Martin a.k.a. Tinus. In the meanwhile the development of our own sound is continued, resulting in the demoCD “Visions of a lost world”. Just like the first demo it was recorded at the Avalanche Studio. This second demo gets Loss of Words a lot more gigs and the show evolves to an energetic hardcore show which we've preformed at venues like Mezz (Breda), W2 (Den Bosch), 013’s Batcave(Tilburg) and the Breda Barst festival.

In the winter of 2005 we decided to take it a little easier to create the time to write new material. More than ever we put lot of effort in writing new material. This results in brand new songs which got taped in the rehearsal room. Amongst those are the seven songs that were recorded at Studio 195 with Mr. Patrick Delabie at the end of May 2006 resulting in the MCD “Resist!”. This MCD is Loss of Words’ heaviest so far. But that doesn’t mean we don’t strive to improve ourselves even more! We will continue to write songs that will blow you away every time you play our music or see us on stage.
